JOB SUMMARY: Principal/Senior Electrical Engineer (Digital/Analog) Meet has partnered with an industry leading medical device company located in Carlsbad, CA who is building out their R&D Electrical Engineering team and looking to hire on a Principal/Senior Digital Electrical Engineer and a Senior Analog Electrical Engineer. The R&D team is developing a next gen X-Ray-based, surgical robotic system. The company is seeking Electrical Design Engineers with 4-15 years of concept to commercialization product development experience in high-power analog electronics (>1kW) in an analog/digital mixed-signal environment. Ideal candidates would have deep domain knowledge in common communication protocols such as Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth, CAN, RS485, and have a proven track record for integrating those in mixed-signal electromechanical devices. As well as strong/recent experience in multi-layer board design from concept to commercialization, signal integrity analysis, computer architecture, and human-machine interface. Onsite Position; Local Candidates Only ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Participates in the design, development, testing, and sustainment of products for X-ray based, image guided surgery products Familiar with both schematic and layout tools for PCB (Mentor Graphics PADS and DxDesigner preferred) Good working knowledge in SPICE and Hyperlynx tools for simulation Good design expertise with high voltages, common circuit architectures, board layout, cable management, and electronic packaging Extensive understanding of electronic design reliability and experienced in effective methodology Propose new ideas for technology advancement within the Electrical group. Responsible for sub-system development within a large capital project. Develop requirements and specifications for sub-system components. Facilitate make versus buy recommendations. Design and develop electro- mechanical products based on requirements Implement, maintain and execute the project plans for new technology programs Maintain and complete appropriate documentation for new technology programs Ensure appropriate documentation is transferred to product line specific areas during commercialization phase Plan, design, review, and oversee the testing of devices according to international electrical emission, immunity and safety standards EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelors or master’s degree in electrical engineering with 4-15 years of relevant product development experience in the medical device industry or other regulated industry Deep domain knowledge in common communication protocols such as Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth, CAN, RS485, and have a proven track record for integrating those in mixed-signal electromechanical devices Recent experience in multi-layer board design from concept to commercialization Extensive knowledge and recent experience in signal integrity analysis Extensive knowledge and recent experience in computer architecture, human-machine interface Extensive knowledge of product development process from concept to commercialization Experience and knowledge of sensing technologies such as capacitive sensors, cameras, or ultrasonic sensors Experience and skilled in cable designs for cost, manufacturability, reliability, and sourcing Extensive knowledge of international medical electrical safety standards (EN-60601-1) and EMC standards (EN-60601-1-2) Skilled with LabVIEW, MATLAB/Simulink, Hyperlynx, and HDL languages for CPLD and FPGA Experience and knowledge of x-ray systems Experience and knowledge of robotics systems and motor controllers Experience and knowledge of PLM systems (Agile preferred) Knowledge in electrical manufacturing processes as they apply to the design process
