Position Overview: The Principal Customer Engagement Strategist is an innovative and strategic role responsible for working cross functionally to achieve long-term customer goals and objectives. This role requires a strong blend of strategic thinking, analytical acumen, and skills to drive growth, loyalty, and advocacy across all customer touchpoints to steer the department toward sustainable success. The ideal candidate is a visionary with a proven track record of working cross-functionally to develop and execute strategic initiatives to drive business growth, enhance competitiveness, and maximize value creation.
The Principal Customer Engagement Strategist reports to the Vice President, Global Customer Engagement & Enablement.
This role can be based in either Bloomington or Thief River Falls, Minnesota, will require a minimum of three days per week in the office and availability for onsite projects, as needed. Travel required, at times, domestically and internationally, up to 25% of the time.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive customer strategic plans aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and values, with a focus on driving growth and profitability, and optimizing operational performance.
  • Conduct thorough market analysis and competitive research to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and threats in the industry.
  • Collaborate with sales, service, and operations teams to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and establish performance targets aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Lead the development and implementation of global inside sales strategies and go-to-market plans to maximize revenue and market share.
  • Drive customer-centric initiatives to enhance the overall customer experience with inside sales and support teams, including measuring customer satisfaction, creating and enhancing feedback mechanisms, and executing service quality improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency through automation, technology adoption, and implementation of best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, finance, product distribution, business development, sales, and IT, to ensure alignment of strategies and seamless execution of initiatives.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics to anticipate potential challenges and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to leadership, providing updates on sales initiatives, progress against strategic objectives, and actionable insights for decision-making.

Other typical tasks may include:
  • Participate in and champion organizational change initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, including but not limited to, possible reallocation of efforts to other organizations per business need and management request.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or related field.
  • Typically, 8+ years of experience in related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve common goals.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a track record of driving business growth and profitability.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience in the sales, service, or operations functions of a B2B or B2C organization is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in related field

Physical Requirements:
  • Work is primarily performed at a desk and/or in an office environment for 3/4 of the day and up
  • The office noise level in the work environment is typically, moderate
  • Generally, spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse, and screen
  • Generally, spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body
