Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Preconstruction MEP Estimator to play a pivotal role in our Construction Management at Risk projects. As a Preconstruction MEP Estimator, you will work collaboratively with the Preconstruction Manager, Owner, Design Team, and Operations Team to deliver high-quality preconstruction services. This position involves creating MEP FP construction cost models, estimating expenses at all design phases, and crafting schedule and logistics plans to support the preconstruction efforts. Close coordination with the construction operations team is integral to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct quantity take-offs using both 2D and 3D applications.
Analyze plans and specifications to accurately assess labor, material, and equipment costs, enabling the preparation of precise cost estimates in schematic, design development, and construction document phases.
Develop unit costs with precision.
Foster strong customer relationships with the Owner and Design Team.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with subcontractors.
Possess a comprehensive understanding of the market and its pricing dynamics.
Solicit subcontractor pricing and validate scope of work.
Create bid packages and scopes of work that align with the project's requirements.
Support Business Development in preparing technical proposals and delivering oral presentations.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating and preconstruction MEP FP projects.
Exceptional time management skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Proficiency with estimating software such as Cost OS, mc2, Pro Contractor Navisworks Manage, BIM, Pro Contractor, or similar applications, as well as PDF mark-up, I-sf, and Primavera (P6).
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
Familiarity with Bluebeam.
Willingness and flexibility to travel and work at various locations.
Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse, multi-disciplinary teams.
