Your Role:
As the Power Electronics Mechanical Engineer in powertrain department, you'll be working with some of the industry's brightest minds to ensure a successful product launch.
- Responsible for in-house power electronics components mechanical design, including casting components, sheet metal components, plastic molding components, and harness
- Create and responsible for subcomponent drawing release, manufacturing for design review, coupon testing, and components level DVP
- Responsible for power electronics subcomponents DFMEA
- Develop the power electronics manufacturing process, such go/no go gauge for fabricated components
- Work with electrical engineering colleagues to ensure the HV components properly mounted with considering all the electrical hazards
- Support outsourced power electronics module drawing release, and mounting strategy evaluation
- Support mechanical design for testing and validation fixtures
- Collaborate with cross-functional team to ensure the power electronics components fit in the vehicle, and ensure the functionality meet the requirement
- Understand all technical and regulatory requirements for the Power Electronics components
- Understand the internal workings of the power electronics components
- Support troubleshooting during the test and validation phase
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 3 years of experience in mechanical design in power electronics development
- Proven knowledge + expertise, and passion for mechanical design in high voltage power electronics components
- Knowledge in GD&T, tolerance stack up analysis, mechanical stress analysis, etc
- Top-notch technical, communication and analytical abilities
- Strong familiarity with power electronics hardware architecture
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven expertise with managing project for timely, logical and concise work products
- A diverse skillset including electrical board design, software development life cycles
- A wide range of experience in different manufacturing process such as casting, molding, bending, etc
- A creative curiosity, collaborative ethic, hardworking enthusiasm, and driving personal vision
- Excellent communication skills and team-working tendencies
- A penchant for multi-tasking and self-starting
- A genuine fascination for the Electric Mobility field and a commitment to global change
- A true sense of determination... and hopefully a sense of humor
Annual Salary Range:
$113,000 - $141,000, plus benefits and incentive plans
