Practice Details:
Foot and Ankle Specialists is a comprehensive podiatry group with three offices (The Woodlands, Memorial City, and Huntsville, Texas). Founded in 2013 by Dr. Marcin Vaclaw, DPM , the practice has experienced tremendous growth and currently has 10 podiatrists on staff. FAS provides the full range of podiatry services including wound care, sports medicine, surgical procedures, intervention, conservative treatment, diabetic foot care, ingrown toenails, fungal toenails, and more. Foot and Ankle Specialists also provides in-home podiatry services. “Our patient base is diverse, we see a lot of runners and other athletes with foot and ankle injuries who are eager to get back to their active lifestyle. Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Strong clinical skills in all facets of podiatry
- Possess excellent surgical skills
- Experience and interest in general podiatric care, wound care, limb salvage, and sports medicine
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
- Compensation based on qualifications and experience
- Ability to successfully interact and communicate with a diverse population
- Empathy and patience when dealing with serious disease
- Up-to-date with latest technologies and treatments in Podiatry
- Doctoral degree in Podiatric Medicine
Podiatrist responsibilities include
- Conducting foot and ankle surgeries, prescribing orthotics and applying therapeutic treatments for issues like arthritis, fractures and feet corn and calluses
- Examine patients' lower extremities to diagnose diseases
- Perform foot and ankle surgeries
- Treat sport-related foot and ankle injuries, like fractures
- Use various podiatric techniques (like casting and laser therapy) to treat deformities and ailments
- Prescribe joint pain relief medication and foot orthoses that improve mobility
- Review patient medical histories
- Advise patients on foot care and general wellness practices
- Order additional medical tests (X-rays, ultrasound, bone density tests, etc.)
- House Calls
