Position: PLC Technician/Engineer
Location: Hazel Park, MI
Pay: $70,000-105,000
Shift: 2nd Shift

Overview:Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of business goals and objectives as assigned. This position will support all plant technical/mechanical operations as well as any building/grounds maintenance required or needed. Responsible for maintaining the controls standard for all automated equipment. Implement PLC and HMI program changes for efficient equipment operation. Responsible for remaining current on available technologies as related to tire and wheel assembly and automated equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead or assist in controls changes for modifications to equipment due to part changes, process changes or improvement activity.
- Improve the troubleshooting capability of maintenance technicians and plant staff. Including, but not limited to training and implementing visual fault displays and monitoring systems.
- Review and monitor PLC changes in the plant for safe and proper implementation into the process.
- Maintain standards for PLC changes and audit on a regular schedule.
- Assist with training in the area of PLC/Servo/VFD training to the plant’s technical staff.
- Diagnose problems, test and make adjustments.
- Assure all safety regulations are followed and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Assist in the relief of plant technical staff during absences from the plant.
- Assure the completion of special assignments designated.
- Work with all departments collaboratively through problem solving and The EPIQ Way.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Support plant/maintenance operations as required 24/7.
- Provide backup support to the Equipment Specialist.
- Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Multi-skilled industrial equipment repair in an automotive experience of at least 3-5 years preferred. Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting is required (Siemens & Allen Bradley). Experience with servo controllers and human interfaces preferred. Strong knowledge of PLC and pneumatic design along with repair.
