Job description

You will serve as a Pipefitter in the Product Division of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC. ALL PRB3XX.Qualifications: Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

WG-08: This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Assisting with installing, modifying and repairs on new and existing high pressure piping systems such as steam heating, steam generation and condensate systems; 2) Using hand or power tools for repair or installation of high pressure piping systems and equipment; 3) Assisting with disassembly, repair, and rebuild component parts of equipment such as flash and expansion tanks, circulating pumps, heat exchangers and radiators.
WG-05: This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Assisting in the assembly, laying, or hanging of pipes by lifting, carrying, and handling tools, fittings, and equipment to the journeyman pipefitter; 2) Cleaning tools, machines and equipment and keeps work area clean and orderly; 3) Tightening pipe connections and valves; and cuts or drills previously marked holes in walls.
