Job description

Pioneer Pantry Coordinator The Pioneer Pantry is a 'back-pack' program that provides high school students with a backpack of food for the weekend. The Pantry serves students at Oregon City High School (OCHS), Oregon City Service Learning Academy (OCSLA), Clackamas Academy of Industrial Sciences (CAIS), and Bridges to Independence. The Pantry provides approximately 100 backpack bags each weekend during the school year.

THis position is for 10-15 hours per week. The Pioneer Pantry Coordinator is responsible for buying most of the food supplied each week to students, packing the backpacks, and delivering backpacks to each of the pantry sites. The Pioneer Pantry Coordinator is also responsible for keeping the food inventory organized and maintaining records of donations and their distribution.

The Coordinator must also: Be compassionate and understanding for the students and their families in the community.Be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with others.Have some flexibility with their schedule. Hours may differ each week.Be able to lift and carry food items weighing 25-50 lbs., repetitively.Be extremely organized, neat, and able to manage their time.Must use tact and maintain a high level of confidentiality. In addition, the Pioneer Pantry Coordinator must: Have or obtain an Oregon Food Handlers card.Have or obtain a CPR/AED certification.Have a work history that includes exceptional attendance.Must have reliable personal transportation for trips to/from the Oregon Food Bank to pick up orders and 'shop the dock'.Must understand and follow Oregon Food Bank procedures and regulations for storing and distributing food to students.

Must also have the ability to work with OC Rotary, Elks, and other civic organizations to coordinate, pick up, and document any donations.Must follow OCSD administrative and purchasing procedures, attend monthly Pioneer Pantry board meetings, and provide weekly reports of the number of backpacks distributed at each school.Have the ability to take direction appropriately, changing tasks as necessary.Have the ability to work collaboratively with the district's McKinney-Vento liaison and high school principals.Fluent in Spanish or Ukrainian is preferred, but is not requiredVan certification through OCSD to use district vehicles and deliver food is preferred, but not required.NUMBER OF HOURS PER WEEK: APPROXIMATELY 10-15 HOURS PER WEEK HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $23.93 PER HOUR THIS POSITION IS A TEMPORARY, HOURLY POSITION AND NOT INCLUDED AS PART OF THE CLASSIFIED BARGAINING UNIT.
