Job Description
Job Title: Physician Medical Director
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Physician Medical Director to provide leadership and oversight in a healthcare facility located in Mobile, AL. The Physician Medical Director will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of patient care, managing and supervising medical staff, and implementing strategic initiatives to improve healthcare outcomes. The successful candidate will possess excellent clinical and managerial skills, along with a strong commitment to patient satisfaction and safety.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Provide leadership and direction in the delivery of comprehensive medical services.
2. Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and procedures.
3. Oversee and manage the performance of medical staff, ensuring adherence to established protocols and standards.
4. Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
5. Foster an environment of continuous learning and professional development for medical staff.
6. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop patient care plans and ensure optimal care delivery.
7. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards applicable to the facility.
8. Maintain current knowledge of advancements in medical practices, clinical guidelines, and technologies.
9. Conduct regular meetings with medical staff to address concerns, provide feedback, and facilitate open communication.
10. Engage in community outreach programs to promote the facility's services and brand.
11. Act as a liaison between the healthcare facility and external stakeholders, including medical societies, payers, and regulatory agencies.
12. Manage medical budgets and resources effectively.
13. Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of medical staff.
14. Provide clinical expertise and consultation as needed.
15. Stay updated on the latest healthcare trends and industry developments.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
2. Valid and unrestricted medical license in the state of Alabama.
3. Board certification in a recognized medical specialty.
4. Proven experience in healthcare leadership and administration, preferably as a Medical Director or similar role.
5. Strong clinical background with a minimum of (x) years of experience in patient care.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to effectively manage and lead a diverse team of medical professionals.
8. In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices.
9. Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other healthcare software.
10. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
11. Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement.
12. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
13. Flexibility to adapt to changing organizational needs and priorities.
14. Strong organizational and time management skills.
15. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
