Responsibilities
Family Practice Associates of Lexington is seeking a Full - Time Physical Therapist to provide comprehensive physical therapy treatments to its patients. The Physical Therapist will evaluate patients, administer treatments, develop care plans and communicate effectively with patients and referring providers. Outpatient general physical therapy experience caring for patients with injuries, musculoskeletal pain, joint disorders, surgical rehab & strength training is preferred. The Physical Therapist must be familiar with current standards of care, treatment methodologies and billing & insurance requirements as well as EHR documentation.
Job duties include:
- Provides skilled physical therapy treatment plans in accordance with provider orders and by assessing & interpreting evaluations and procedure results of patients.
- Assures continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs, instructing patients, recommending assistive equipment or follow-up programs.
- Promptly and thoroughly documents and maintains clinical and administrative records regarding patient limitations, interventions, treatments, responses and progress to administered therapies.
- Communicates effectively with patients, family members and referring providers on discharge instructions and prescribed treatments.
- Works collaboratively with providers, care teams and colleagues to deliver high quality care, preventive treatments and effective education to patients.
- Understands billing and insurance requirements, completes documentation for accurate and timely billing.
- Work independently, exercise creativity, be attentive to detail and maintain a positive attitude.
- Document all patient care and education plans in Allscripts EMR.
- Maintains accurate documentation in EHR.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient information according to established practice policies and governmental regulations, such as HIPAA.
- Participates in committee, staff meetings and other duties as assigned.
Specific Requirements
- Bachelors degree from an accredited physical therapy program. Minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Current Ky Physical Therapist license.
- Current CPR certification.
- Thorough knowledge of physical therapy principles and practices.
- Knowledge of CPT & ICD-10 coding procedures.
- Proficient in Electronic Health Records.
- Demonstrate sound judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with other team members.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to listen well and work closely with patients, staff and providers.
- Physical ability to sit, stand and stretch repeatedly as well as lift loads of less than 20 pounds.
