Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Full Time at
Vero Beach Care Center
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides Physical Therapy services to customers by assisting in treatment, program planning and implementation, related documentation and communication. Functions under supervision of the Physical Therapist and the Rehab Program Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES of the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA):
1. THE PTA provides Physical Therapy services to customers and initiates referrals when appropriate and in accordance with department procedures.
2. Conducts screenings of customers at regular intervals to determine need for intervention/treatment.
3. Evaluates customers to obtain data necessary for treatment planning and implementation. Conducts evaluations as indicated.
4. The PTA monitors customer's response to intervention and modifies treatment, as indicated, to attain goals.
5. Develops appropriate home or community programming to maintain and enhance the performance of the customer in his or her own environment.6. Provides clinical information regarding safety and functional needs for discharge in a timely manner.
7. Adheres to established confidentiality standards, policy and procedures and standards of practice.
8. The PTA provides in-service education to the members of the customer’s care team and family and provides education to the community, as necessary.
9. Maintains customer caseload per clinical and productivity standards.
10. Adheres to department procedures regarding clinical documentation, billing and electronic signature.
11. Supervises students and volunteers, when applicable.
12. Attends team member in-service training, education and meetings as required.
13. Assumes responsibility for Physical Therapy Florida state ongoing licensure, continuing education and professional development obligations.
14. Complies with all Infection Control, Universal Precautions and OSHA standards for the healthcare professional.
15. The PTA performs other duties as assigned.16. All team members are responsible for the development and success of new team members. Position accepts assignments to mentor new team members and train them in accordance with corporate policies. This includes partnering with new team members, as assigned, to train them in processes to follow, systems and equipment to use (and do so properly and safely), facilitating relationship development with other team members, customers, and their families.
SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS for the Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA):
1. Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
2. Successful completion of National Certification Examination for Registered Physical Therapist.
