Pet Reunite Specialist
Position Overview:
Do you have a passion working with pets and people? Are you are people person? AHS takes in nearly 10,000 stray animals each year. Only about 7% of our stray pets are reunited with their owner. The Animal Assistance Department has a goal to reunite more pets with their owners and provide education and resources to pet owner's looking for lost pets through the Pet Reunite Position. This position is critical in achieving that goal, with an excellent customer experience being at the forefront.

Pet Reunite Specialist

Essential Functions
- Complete the ID Check and RTO reports at least twice daily
- Provide and excellent experience every time
- Search through lost pet postings on a variety of different platforms to find matches for strays in our care
- Post strays in our care to the Arizona Humane Society Found Pets Facebook page
- Prioritize your daily schedule for reunifications, walk-throughs, phone calls, and emails
- Calculate Return to Owner and medical fees based on a standard scale
- Apply discounts and grants to fees as applicable and negotiate fees as needed
- Assist customers walking in who have lost a pet, to include escorting them through kennels and collecting information to create a lost pet report
- Work with the Shelter Surgery team to spay/neuter unaltered pets in a timely manner as part of the reunification process
- Communicate with other shelters as needed to connect pet owners with their pets
- Educate the public on steps to take when they have lost of found a pet
- Microchip pets returning home as needed
- Vaccinate pets, with vitals taken and recorded, as needed
- Discuss medical history, including care provided in shelter and follow up needed after pick up
- Ensure our Field Department is notified of medical RTOs when urgent follow up care is needed
- Other duties as assigned
