Optum is looking for a Per Diem Nocturnist to join our team in Orange County. The clinicians we seek are those who practice medicine with a focus on patient care, not volume.  We want our clinicians to take the time needed to truly address the patient’s needs.

Position Details:

• Coverage for two affiliated hospital facilities in South Orange County
• Per Diem Schedule: Varied; approximately 3-6 shifts per month
• Shifts to include 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Admissions and cross coverage only; no rounding on patients.

We offer competitive per diem rate plus medical malpractice coverage and eligibility for 401K plan.Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. Required Qualifications:

• Unrestricted California State Medical License
• Current California DEA certificate
• Board Certified Internal Medicine
• EMR proficient
• Ability to work both shifts on a full-time basis
• Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. Preferred Qualifications: 

• Minimum 2-4  years’ experience 
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Solid verbal and written communication skills
• Self-starter with ability to practice with a high degree of independence
