Your Impact:
The People Operations Manager will be primarily responsible for employee relations, general compliance with labor laws, and coaching managers on organizational policies. This position will lead people projects like implementing new HR databases and overseeing the administration of outsourced processes like payroll and benefits. They will also assist and help support The Tech’s IDEA commitments. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Head of People, Culture, and Belonging and will also manage junior People Team members.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and monitor overall people operations strategies and procedures across the organization (onboarding, job descriptions, engagement events, survey, and performance reviews).
- Manage all employee relations by addressing concerns and grievances, including conducting investigations.
- Partner with the Head of People, Culture, and Belonging to write and implement new organizational policies that are transparent and fair. Own communications and enforcement of people operations policies.
- Manage our benefits and other operational vendor relationships (retirement plan, unemployment, FSA).
- Review and update employment agreements and assist with other alternative work arrangements.
- Manage the People Operations department budget.
- Help track HR and people metrics.
- Advise and coach managers on policies and procedures, such as progressive discipline and legal compliance.
- Coordinate employee training and development initiatives to support new people operations systems and processes.
- Ensure our various human resource management systems and policies are legally compliant.
- Complete additional related tasks or duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience as a People Operations Manager or similar HR-management position.
- Experience and knowledge of HR systems and databases (ATSs, HRISs).
- Working knowledge of HR compliance requirements and labor laws.
- In-depth knowledge of best practices around employee relations and how to build and manage interpersonal relationships throughout the organization.
- Experience tracking and analyzing HR data.
Working Conditions and Schedule
- This is an onsite position with the possibility of flexibility for working some days at an alternative work location. Flexibility will vary depending on the needs of the job.
Salary Range: $95,000 - $105,000
