POSITION SUMMARY:
The Pedi/OB Behavioral Health Program Manager works as a part of a diverse team in a multicultural Community Health Center to coordinate and deliver cost-effective Behavioral Health interventions in a primary care setting. The Pedi/OB Behavioral Health Program Manager provides clinical and administrative supervision and clinical consultation to Behavioral Health Providers, Case Managers, Nutritionists and Medical Providers. The Pedi/OB BH Program Manager will manage the pediatrics nutrition initiatives in collaboration with the Pedi/OB Assistant Chief Medical Officer. This position will also provide direct-patient care.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Oversee the integrated care program in Pediatrics and OB/GYN and provide day-to-day leadership for interdisciplinary primary care team
- Responsible for hiring, training, performance evaluation, and guiding the professional development of SS staff
- Provide on-going supervision to Behavioral Health Providers and Case Managers, and Community Health Workers to ensure treatment is clinically appropriate, effective and meets professional and ethical standards
- Lead the development of and oversee coordination of programs within Pediatrics and OB
- Supervise the Pedi and OB SS staff (CHW’s and BH Clinicians) in maximizing use of nutritional counseling for Pedi and OB patients- ensuring nutrition visits meet or exceed their budgeted amount.
- Collaborate with the Pedi/OB Assistant Chief Medical Officer to develop the Pedi/OB nutrition program.
- Be responsible for general program development for Pediatrics and OB/GYN
- Manage the GROW Clinic program
- Conduct regular patient chart reviews and audits to ensure quality patient care and compliance
- Build partnerships with community organizations, service providers, and other entities to work collaboratively in support of BNHC patients
- Travel as necessary for meetings and trainings
SKILLS:- Comfortable with the pace of primary care, working with an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work independently, solve problems and move ahead without constant instructions
- Ability to prioritize and manage competing demands
- Excellent knowledge of behavioral medicine and evidence based treatments for medical and mental health conditions (particularly within pediatrics and OB care)
- Excellent knowledge of community resources
- Good knowledge of psycho-pharmacology within Pedi and OB
The ability to design and implement clinical pathways and protocols for treatment of issues commonly found in Pediatrics and OB Care, with special attention to nutrition.
QUALIFICATIONSLicensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). Language and cultural diversity (Cape Verdean Creole, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, French, and Spanish) preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONSA busy community health center located in a downtown business district. Occasional long hours may be required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSPhysical demands requiring lifting of small pieces of equipment and/or boxes not to exceed 20 pounds. Mostly sedentary, with interoffice walking required. Visual acuity sufficient for frequent reading. Hearing acuity sufficient for holding conversations with or without audio devices.
