We are seeking a Physical Therapist to join our growing team!
Whole Kids Co. is a multi-disciplinary counseling and Autism Center with two locations serving Colorado Springs and the surrounding areas. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
1. Provides skilled physical therapy treatment plans by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results of clients.
2. Assures continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instructing clients, recommending and/or providing assistive equipment; recommending follow-up programs.
3. Promptly and thoroughly document and maintain clinical and administrative records regarding patient limitations/interventions, treatments, responses and progress to administered therapy as well as discharge summaries.
4. Maintain client records confidentially in accordance to HIPAA regulations.
5. Records treatment white sheets daily in accurate and timely manner.
6. Supervises and supports Physical Therapy Assistants in direct client care. Signs off on all PTA notes within 24 hours of appointment.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations.
2. Maintain work area, common areas and supplies.
3. Maintain professional appearance and personal conduct at all times.
4. Ability to co-treat across disciplines.
5. Adhere to employer work practices.
6. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, client and families.
7. Keep regular clinic hours as approved by Clinical Manager.
8. Attends meetings as requested.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience:
One year as a Physical Therapist or comparable internship preferably in a pediatric setting.
Skills:
1. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
2. Knowledge of CPT coding procedures.
3. Thorough knowledge of physical therapy principles and practices.
4. Working knowledge of computer programs.
Other Requirements:
- Maintain current CPR.
- Maintain current Colorado PT Licensure.
- Remain TBRI informed through company training.
- Maintain current Professional Crisis Management certification
- Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
- Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation.
- Ability to communicate.
- Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance.
Applicants will possess:
- A passion for working with youth of all ages
- Experience with children in a therapy setting a plus
- Knowledge of evaluation tools
- Design & Execute therapeutic programs
- Ability to motivate clients during sessions
- Excellent communication skills with children, multidisciplinary team and families
- Maintains timely report writing and submission
- Ability to serve as a resource to the clinical staff
Qualifications:
- Current CO Licensure or ability to obtain licensure
- Ability to handle physical workload
- Ability to build rapport with patients and parents/guardians
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership qualities
