The pediatric RRT performs duties involved with the treatment, management control, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with deficiencies and /or abnormalities within the Pulmonary system. This position is responsible for pediatric and neonatal therapeutic equipment and processes including: intubation, ventilator management with conventional as well as high-frequency oscillatory (HFO) ventilation, Nitric Oxide and surfactant administration. Assist in high-risk deliveries, C-sections and regional ground transports (if applicable).
- Registered Respiratory Therapist through the National Board for Respiratory Care. If credentialed after 2002, must maintain active membership status for credentials issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care preferred.
- Licensed Respiratory Therapist (LRT) with the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy (ASBRT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) S.T.A.B.L.E. certification Neonatal pediatric transport certification (if applicable)
- Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Must have the ability to successfully complete work within rigid time constraints.
- Must possess reasoning ability and good independent judgment.
