Anderson Health Services is seeking a Payroll Specialist for its facility. The position is responsible for all Anderson Health Services hourly employees. This position works in partnership with Human Resources/Finance under the direction of the Finance Director.
PAYROLL SPECIALIST ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
- Must adhere to the agency philosophy and mission statement
- Compiles payroll data such as hours worked, overtime and shift differentials from time sheets and other records
- Computes wages and deductions and posts to payroll records
- Reviews wages computed and corrected errors to ensure accuracy of payroll
- Partner with department leaders on the timely submission of timesheets
- Monitor department overtime activities and share information with leaders
- Ensure payroll reports are sent to leaders on a weekly basis
- Records changes affecting net wages such as exemptions, insurance coverage, and loan payments for each employee to update master payroll records
- Assist with the preparation periodic reports of earnings, taxes and deductions
- Prepares and issues paychecks
- Asist with the preparation of tax reports and tax deposits
- Complies with government regulations and company Guidelines
- Actively participates in team meetings
- Understand the cultural diversity of client’s staff members
- Ability to develop mutually respectful relationships with leaders and staff members
- Ability to work as a partner with other team members
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Finance Director

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business Administration or related field with 1 year of experience
- An Associate degree with 2-3 years of experience in a similar role
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- 2 weeks’ notice is required for this position
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
- Must have the ability to respond effectively within and cope with an environment that can be extremely stressful on the mind and body
- Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus and provide required vaccination documentation unless approved for an exemption or deferral by Anderson Health Service prior to starting employment

- Proficient computer and database skills
Physical Requirements:
- Will frequently perform a wide variety of physical tasks such as standing, walking, running, stooping, bending, climbing stairs and lifting of individuals, which requires strength, coordination, endurance, and agility. In addition, there may be occasional contact with hostile individuals, and incumbents may be subjected to physical and verbal abuse while restraining children and adolescents.
