Native American Development Corporation (NADC) is seeking two motivated, caring, organized individuals to join the Billings Urban Indian Health and Wellness Center team. The Billings Urban Indian Health and Wellness Center (BUIHWC) is an urban Indian health clinic that focuses on the Billings service area. BUIHWC is dedicated to creating a culture focused on patient-centered care. BUIHWC places patients at the center of their Circle of Healing. Applicants must have:
High school diploma or general equivalency degree equivalent
One-year experience in a healthcare related field, (e.g. patient access, insurance eligibility verification/authorization, billing, electronic claims submission, or collections of accounts receivable) preferred.
Proficient with computers including Microsoft Office application (e.g. Excel, Outlook, and Word) required.
Proficient with electronic calendar management software and scheduling programs is required.
Essential job duties include (but are not limited to):
Greets all patients, families, guests, coworkers, etc. in a professional manner.
Responsible for obtaining accurate patient demographic information, validating addresses, identifying and verifying health insurance information for Billings Urban Indian Health and Wellness Center.
Performs registration processes in accordance with types of care/services rendered (e.g. primary care, mental health, addiction counseling, etc.). This includes patient demographic information, address verification, validation of insurance or appropriate pay source, releases of information, healthcare questionnaires, scheduling with the appropriate provider, etc.
o Collect and scan patient identification and insurance cards per department procedures.
o Perform all registration quality assurance checks daily per department procedures.
o Completes CMS requirements (e.g. Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) questionnaire and Medicaid checks as required) and performs other duties required by federal and state regulations.
Provides packets and information to new patients and explains BUIHWC’s consent to treatment and financial responsibility policies.
Coordinates with all clinic staff as necessary for pre-certification/pre-authorization or financial situations related to health care services and external referral services.
Perform clerical, scheduling, and records activities in support of patients and clinical staff.
Complete referral coordination and documentation as needed.
Follow-up, coordinate, receive and input documentation and information into the electronic health record with accuracy.
Communicates with clinical staff, provider teams, and other support staff regarding coordination or care.
Works closely with the financial department to collect all Point of Service (POS) transactions, claims edits and resolves denials to patient access during times of low volume.
Meets or exceeds department goals and objectives as set forward by leadership. Goals Include but are not limited to accuracy rate goals, collection goals, productivity goals, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned as part of a cross-functional, enthusiastic, and self-directed approach to consistently deliver exceptional services, engagement, and professionalism.
