What Will You Do?
The BikesOnline Parts and Accessories Buyer (US) will be responsible for growing and managing our parts and accessories portfolio, including Original Equipment of Manufacturer (OEM) parts. You will be accountable for making sound buying decisions and sourcing the best product opportunities available. Reporting to the US Product Buyer, responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Manage a balanced parts and accessories product line that delivers on revenue, margin, variety of rider needs and boosts overall e-Commerce sales, including OEM parts.
- Building relationships with suppliers and negotiating with them for the best price, quantities, and delivery timescales.
- Conduct regular market analysis on direct and similar competitors, including market size, trends, and market penetration.
- Manage the inventory to ensure continuity of fast-moving, selling product supply for the market whilst achieving targets and performance of priority categories.
- Manage end of life/excess & obsolete stock items, identifying risk and proposing action plans to mitigate risk and minimize profit impact, co-coordinating efforts with marketing to optimize sales velocity.
- Manage and deliver pricing analysis based on market trends, cost price and consumer needs.
- Work effectively with cross-department teams, communicating information regarding new products for the website, sharing details of incoming stock to meet their needs and analyzing data from marketing, customer service and warranty.
- Create, analyze, and present weekly and monthly reports to business leaders.
- Conduct quarterly analysis on new potential market segments.
- Creating and managing products on the content management system and websites, including barcodes, descriptions, images, and bike compatibility details
- Coordinate ordering of parts from international and local suppliers
- Work with the warehouse team to manage and maintain spare parts storage infrastructure and pick systems
What You’ll Have?
- Tertiary qualifications in marketing, business or related field.
- 3+ years experience in the cycling retail industry with a strong knowledge of products.
- Experience in drop shipping or indent buying.
- Experience managing an online product catalogue.
- Experience collaborating with multiple overseas entities, including team members and vendors.
- Demonstrated analytical ability with an aptitude for building a narrative around the data that translates into actions.
- Advanced planning and analytical skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office and Google Suite skills, a high level of proficiency with MS Excel is required.
- Strong people and communication skills with team members and stakeholders.
- Organised, with the ability to multitask and work under pressure or tight deadlines.
- Ability to work across international time zones to liaise with international markets, vendors and different teams within the business.
- Exceptional problem solving ability and attention to detail.
