Summary
The NFL Media Group is seeking a Newsdesk Assistant who is tasked with assisting the Assignment Desk in all phases the newsgathering process for both on-air and digital content.
Essential Functions
Potential candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Must be able to follow instructions and work well with others in a fast-paced newsroom environment
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize daily assignments
- Strong football knowledge and awareness of NFL events and stories, ability to quickly identify players and coaches.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills both verbally and written
- Ability to meet deadlines under pressure situations
- Familiar with utilizing social media as a source of breaking news
- Able to book feeds and file transfer
- Must be flexible with work schedule including weekends and overnight shifts
Required Education and Experience
- College degree
- 1+ years in a newsroom environment
Preferred Education and Experience
- BA in Journalism or Communications preferred
- 1+ years in a newsroom environment
Other Key Attributes / Characteristics
- Working with others in various levels on the assignment desk, overseeing desk functions in off hours
Travel
- Minimal - some local assignments, not required
Salary / Pay Range

Terms / Expected Hours of Work
- Less than 29 hours/week
- Must be flexible with work schedule including weekends and overnight shifts
- Part-time FLSA non-exempt
- Must be available to work from our Inglewood office
