Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-8pm with weekends, evenings and holidays

Brief Description of Work:
This position will work at Hester Park to develop an understanding of general park operations including customer service, maintenance and grounds work including mowing, cleaning and power tools. Equipment to operate includes but not limited to mowers, tractors, loaders, boat motors and vehicles including pick-ups, UTV, large dump trucks, and a variety of hand tools. Additional responsibilities will include customer service and assisting other departments, agencies and organizations with coordinating use of the facility.
Varying work schedule and flexibility are a must. Willingness to work weekends (and late night work will be required for special events held in the park). Work requires maintaining physical condition for walking, kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time and requires climbing, stooping, crawling, lifting and carrying moderate to heavy materials (50-100lbs).
This job is Non-Exempt and is subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Valid Driver's License
- Experience with grounds maintenance equipment
An Ideal Candidate Would Also Possess (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous work experience in a park and recreation setting or related experience
