What You Will Do
Ascension Medical Group is looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for the Dearborn Internal Medicine practice.
This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to provide medical services to adult patients at Dearborn Internal Medicine located in Dearborn, Michigan.
Position Highlights:
- The PA/NP will see patients in both the Comprehensive Care Clinic and Internal Medicine independently.
- There are two physicians, a Care Manager and a Pharmacist in the practice.
- On-site ancillaries include a lab and x-ray.
- Full-time work schedule to be discussed at time of hire.
- Limited call schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Obtains patient history and performs assessment. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures.
- Provides and documents direct treatment and management of health conditions.
- Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
- Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.
- Responsible for quality measures and other defined metrics.
Job Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration
Physician Assistant:
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
- Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
- Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board Physician Assistants Task Force obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
- Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
Nurse Practitioner:
• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
• Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

Education
Physician Assistant:
- Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program required.

Work Experience
- 1-2 years of relevant primary care experience as a PA/NP.
- Must be comfortable working independently.
