Chelten House – Packaging Line Lead (5:00 am-4:00pm)

What We Need:
  • We need a Packaging Line Lead who is responsible for managing the workflow of the Packaging Lines, providing coverage for break and meal periods, and accounting for and escalating downtime events.
What You Will Do:
  • You will oversee and lead staffing for the Packaging Line; providing support to operators and technicians as needed
  • You will serve as main point of contact for Packaging Line with other supporting departments
  • You will provide break and meal coverage for operators and technicians as required
  • You will manage Planned Downtime events such as Water Purges, Hot Washes and Allergen Washes in accordance with SOP
  • You will manage unplanned downtime events such as mechanical breakdowns in accordance with Escalation Protocol
  • You will ensure completion of Line Downtime Tracking mechanisms such as the downtime log and KPI board with accuracy
  • You will manage staffing movements as needed (i.e. adjusting staff members due to call-outs; moving temporary associates as needed)
  • You will ensure completion of Product Change-over checklists in accordance with SOP
  • You will maintain a state of audit-ready line cleanliness in accordance with 5S locations for cleaning tools, operator tools and workstations
  • You will perform Quality Checks in accordance with Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) – in the event of a Quality concern (defective materials, Product out of QC specification) expected to initiate escalation to Line Lead/supervisors and/or QA department
  • Attend Daily Line Lead meeting prepared with feedback from most recent shift (i.e. downtime events, line efficiency/performance, major call-outs, etc.)
What You Need:
  • Minimum of a High School Education
  • 2+ years’ experience in manufacturing environment
  • Experience with machine or tooling change-overs
  • Comprehension of Preventative Maintenance
  • Experience in performing basic lubrication, greasing and parts inspection
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; professionalism, problem solving, attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with a strong dedication for success, taking pride in workmanship
  • Participation in employee training as it relates to GMP’s, Health and Safety, periodic technical training as it relates to internal development, active participation of Line Improvement and Optimization activities ensuring high performance of Production
  • Computer proficiency, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook etc.
  • Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, GMP and other quality programs
  • Ability to work in varying climates
  • Willing to work flexible hours and frequent overtime including weekends
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, blueprints, diagrams, schematics, equipment instructions, requirements and business correspondences.
  • Ability to safely lift a minimum of 50 pounds in a repetitive nature
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work in an environment exposed to milk, egg, mustard, peanuts, fish, sulfites, sesame, soy, tree nuts, and wheat allergens
