Long established successful East Bay food ingredient importer/distributor looking to hire full-time experienced Outside Sales Representatives for multiple territories within 100 mile radius of Hayward, California.
The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of food and beverage ingredients, specifically bakery industry experience.
The primary purpose of this position is to develop new customers and manage established customers by selling food items to achieve sales and profitability goals.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of previous B2B food industry experience with building a portfolio of customers in distribution models.
- Working knowledge of bakery products, ingredients, raw materials, and baking supplies.
- Working knowledge of bakery and food manufacturing operations.
- Working knowledge of digital CRM solutions.
- Motivated self-starter able to work autonomously with limited supervision.
- Prior experience performing within a commissioned and/or performance-driven pay structure.
- Able to effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues and customers.
- Able to engage others while maintaining a personable, consultative approach for superior customer service.
- Able to effectively manage time within a schedule of competing priorities and tasks.
- Able to understand and calculate sales and margins.
Responsibilities:
- Increase sales growth in the assigned territory.
- Primary owner of customer relationship.
- Visiting, selling and engaging customers in value added activities.
- Establish and maintain a target account list.
- Compile lists of prospective customers to include: medium to large bakeries and food processing companies.
- Develop actions to grow existing and or new business.
- Prepare territory analysis, pre-call planning, and successful sales calls with existing and potential customers.
- Travel throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders.
- Present products via samples and product catalog, showcasing features of products and services.
- Communicate pricing to customers while maintaining margin structure as assigned.
- Provide customer service with orders and ETAs of deliveries.
- Follow up on ALL customer requests and inquiries to ensure a timely and appropriate response with focus on customer satisfaction.
- Facilitate collection of customer payments with accountability of receivables.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety rules as stated in the Employee Handbook and otherwise posted or communicated.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
