ARETUM, a leading government contracting company specializing in technology-enabled mission support services, is seeking a talented Project Manager/Growth Manager to join our team. As a Project Manager/Growth Manager at ARETUM, you will have a unique opportunity to manage projects and drive business growth within the Department of Defense (DoD) sector. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects and identify new business opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Operations & Leadership
  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive project portfolio management strategy for the DOD sector, ensuring alignment with Aretum's strategic goals.
  2. Provide management and oversight of the project portfolio, including planning, execution, monitoring, and control of projects.
  3. Collaborate with senior leadership to define project priorities, resource allocation, and project performance metrics.
  4. Lead a team of project managers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure successful project delivery.
  5. Establish and enforce project management best practices, methodologies, and standards within the DOD sector.
  6. Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure projects stay on track.
  7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication, coordination, and collaboration across projects.
  8. Conduct regular project portfolio reviews to assess project performance, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and government agencies, to foster strong partnerships and drive project success.
  10. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in project management within the DOD sector.
  • Business Development & Growth
  1. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the DOD operations and business development landscape, including current projects, initiatives, and potential growth opportunities.
  2. Collaborate with senior leadership to define the strategic direction and goals for the DOD operations and business development function at Aretum.
  3. Identify and qualify the corporate "sweetspot" within the DOD market, understanding the specific areas where Aretum can provide unique value and differentiate itself.
  4. Lead the development of account strategies for key DOD clients, outlining the approach to engage and build relationships with these clients.
  5. Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify potential growth opportunities and emerging trends within the DOD market.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute effective strategies for pursuing new business opportunities within the DOD market.
  7. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government clients, partners, and project leadership, to foster strong partnerships and drive business growth.
  8. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to DOD operations and business development.
  9. Provide regular updates and reports to senior leadership on the progress of account strategy development and business development activities within the DOD market.
  10. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and coordination across different departments and functions, maximizing the effectiveness of business development efforts.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with the Department of Defense or other government agencies
  • 7+ years of experience in project management and business development, or a related role
  • Strong knowledge of the DoD acquisition and procurement process
  • Understanding of contracts and government buying cycles
  • Proven track record of successfully managing projects and driving business growth
  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required
