We are looking to add an Operations Consultantto join our Employee Benefits team. Preference for candidates to sit out of the Waukee, IA or Dallas, TX office, but open to other locations depending on candidate experience. The purpose of this position is to champion the best practices and use of client services tools and resources for the Employee Benefits departments in all offices. This role will work alongside the Best Practices and Growth & Development teams to identify potential areas of improvement to create an exemplary employee and client experience.
Here's just a bit of what you'd do:
- Act as best practices liaison for all Employee Benefits offices, managing our line of business resources.
- Support strategic goals and initiatives defined by Employee Benefits and Organizational leaders and create initiatives that further the company's overall goals.
- Work with service and sales leaders to understand the needs of our clients.
- Coordinate different teams to foster exchange of ideas and provide cross-team learning opportunities.
- Support deployment of Employee Benefits Systems. Responsible for successful implementation of new Employee Benefits systems, design of workflow, assist in training and provide review to assure practices and efficiencies are achieved.
- Act as quality manager for benefit departments to assure quality reviews are done according to Holmes Murphy Errors and Omissions guidelines.
- Oversee various Employee Benefits technology and general resources partnerships.
- Manage Employee Benefits (Non-Clinical) vendor RFI, Tools & Resources.
You'd also need to be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to do the job, including, but not limited to:
- Excellent knowledge of employee benefit client management strategies and the ability to apply that knowledge in the performance of the job duties.
- Good understanding of effective sales and customer service methods and the ability to apply this knowledge relative to the broker perspective.
- Ability to develop and foster effective relationships with employees, strategic partners, etc.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to apply these skills in either verbal or written form when interacting with leaders and team members.
- Ability to manage projects, lead people, and influence change.
- Ability to successfully plan and facilitate meetings to uncover and resolve issues, drive decision making, and keep objectives in focus.
- Ability to Liaise between different company departments and stakeholders to ensure collaboration and coordination
- The ability to travel for projects or as required to provide services such as training, best practices workflow, etc.
- Ability to operate a computer and working knowledge of various software packages such as, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Ability to make innovative and effective decisions, acting independently, and in a proactive manner within corporate guidelines.
- Ability to provide leadership and focus on improvement.
- Ability to keep current on industry trends to include legislative compliance issues.
- Must be knowledgeable of and comply with Holmes Murphy's Client Privacy Policy, HIPAA regulations and E&O procedures and policies.
And let's not forget the qualifications for the position:
- Education: College degree, preferred. Ability to obtain state-specific Life/Health Insurance agent license within 3 months of hire, if role requires. Technical designations such as CEBS, CLU, etc., helpful.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in an employee benefits organization. Previous project management experience preferred.
