The Opportunity:
The Oil Driver position is responsible for bulk fuel deliveries, retrieving directions, and providing customer service and logistics support with respect to fuel department deliveries throughout the geographic area.
Responsibilities:
- Safely transports and delivers loaded and empty tanker in a professional, safe, efficient, timely and legal manner.
- Hooks and unhooks trailers, operates pumps and valves both on and off the truck and safely fills tanks of all types and sizes.
- Ensures customer orders are correctly handled and delivered. Monitors key performance data to anticipate customer service problems, opportunities, and risks.
- Effectively coordinates with dispatchers and others to resolve any issues, problems or concerns that arise in transit or during delivery. Decides and disseminates solutions to meet and satisfy customer needs.
- Maintains a viable relationship with management, dispatchers, customers, and fellow employees to ensure customers’ needs are always met.
- Provides accurate accident, safety, and various other related reporting as required.
- Follows appropriate safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods.
- May assist in warehouse on an ad hoc basis by safely operating warehouse equipment (e.g. forklift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.).
- Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid Class A Driver's License
- Clean driving record
- Current DOT Medical Card
- Ability to drive a manual transmission
- 1-year full time verifiable related experience
- Hazmat endorsement
- Ability to work in all weather conditions with previous experience driving in winter weather
- Able and willing to work long hours including day and night shifts
- Proficient verbal & written communication skills
- Ability to work in varying outdoor climates
- Physical ability to complete required duties, including sitting, standing, lifting, bending, reaching, and walking
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
