JOB DESCRIPTION:
Customer Service Rep. (Logistics)
1st Shift: 8:00am-5:00pm
Pay: $20.00-$24.00 DOE
Location: Oakland, CA
POSITION PURPOSE:
Represent Logistics company in a professional manner to our customers, vendors and general public completing and coordinating all office functions in regard to customer service, daily workflow and quality of work with the warehouse operations department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Input customer orders into Database or Warehouse Management System
Check statuses of vessels and containers
Interact with Steamship Line and terminals for any problems related with the shipment(s) and to verify export bookings or empty container returns.
Perform the drayage process of shipment from receiving Arrival Notices and ISF information before the port arrival of the vessel to creating and sending delivery work orders and empty container returns, etc.
Build relationships with selected drayage carriers and make urgent communication in case of emergency.
Search backup drayage carriers in case of shortages
Share daily container delivery schedules with drayage carriers.
Dispatch containers to dispatch department ensuring that no unnecessary container per diem occurs
Prepare documentation to dispatch containers back to the terminals as soon as released or directed by customer
Notify customers when their freight will not make their designated vessel
Complete container load plans throughout the day, notifying customers of all discrepancies
