- Position Summary
- The Occupational Therapist organizes and conducts prescribed OT program through the application of purposeful, goal-directed activities in the evaluating and treatment of persons whose function is impaired by developmental and/or psychiatric illness or disability. These programs will be geared toward the achievement of optimum/maximal patient functioning, prevention of disability, and maintenance of heal and wellness. When working in the educational setting, the Occupational Therapist will work with members of the team to design and provide services that support the achievement of academic, behavioral, and daily living goals of students in accordance with the IEP and Behavior Plans and that will ultimately allow the student to progress towards fulfilling the Learning Standards.
- Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: Masters degree in Occupational Therapy unless grandfathered.
- License/Certifications: State of Maine licensure. OTR/L. Certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
- Experience: 2+ years of psychiatric experience preferred, one of which is with the age population assigned. Neurodevelopment Therapists are required to have Psychiatric, Development Disorders/Pediatric, and Physical Disability experience.
