SUMMARY
Part time position that provides nursing services and first aid to employees who become ill or injured on the premises.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintains confidentiality of CDS Global and its clients' proprietary information.
- Takes patient's vital signs, treats injuries as per standing orders, evaluates condition or patient, determines treatment plan per algorithm, contacts physician as needed.
- Maintains patient charts, office logs, insurance files and OSHA logs.
- Develops and delivers training programs as per Company policies and/or Federal Guidelines.
- Must be able to function independently, make appropriate decisions regarding work restrictions and fitness for duty, and treatment plan for all workers' compensation cases.
- Must be able to work hours which may include travel, work days greater than 8 hours a day or greater than 5 days a week.
- The Occupational Health Nurse must be able to work at/in the designated facility/department/location during the established hours.
- Interacts in cooperative and professional manner, with all levels of employees, vendors and/or clients, in team environment.
- Organizes tasks and resources to complete work and meet deadlines according to established departmental procedures.
- Follows CDS Global ergonomic and safety policies.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Rarely, but must be able to perform CPR and emergency first aid as needed.
- Must be able to drive to other sites (may be up to 5 hours in some cases).
- Has access to transportation requiring a valid drivers' license, proof of safe driving record, and active insurance.
- Maintains confidentiality of CDS Global and its clients' proprietary information.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Registered Nurse license from the State of Iowa.
- Certification in CPR.
- Ability to convey clear, concise, and organized information to others, using verbal, written, or other appropriate communication techniques.
- Ability to apply twoway verbal transaction skills utilizing appropriate grammar and listening techniques in communicating with others to effectively explain policies, procedures, or other factual information.
- Variety of Duties: Work situations that involve frequent changes of tasks using different techniques, procedures, or degrees of attentiveness without loss of efficiency or composure.
- Work situations that involve adhering to and achieving exact levels of performance, high levels of confidence regarding at times sensitive information, using precision measuring instruments, tools, and machines to attain precise dimensions.
- Preparing exact verbal and numerical records.
- Complying with precise instruments and specifications for materials, methods, procedures, and techniques to attain specified standards.
- Dealing with People: Work situations that involve interpersonal relationships in a job setting beyond giving and receiving work instructions.
- Making Judgments and Decisions: Work situations that involve solving problems, making evaluations, or reaching conclusions based on subjective or objective criteria, such as the five senses, knowledge, past experience, or quantifiable or factual data.
- Work situations may rarely involve making immediate decisions pertaining to life threatening circumstances.

- Reporting or carrying out a prescribed action in relation to the information that is frequently involved.
- Serving: Attending to the needs or requests or people or the expressed or implicit wishes of people. Immediate response is involved.
- Manipulating: Using body members, tools or special devices to work, move, guide, or place objects or materials.
- Some latitude for judgment with regard to precision attained and selecting appropriate tool, object or material, although this is readily apparent.
