POSITION #025-CLS-02-22: NUTRITION SERVICE ASSOCIATE IISunnyslope Elementary6 hours total per day/191 days per yearSalary Schedule: $20.20 - $22.31 per hour DESCRIPTION: The Nutrition Service Associate II assists in the preparation and serving of food, and in the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen facilities. To accomplish these tasks the Nutrition Service Associate II must work closely with the staff and the Central Kitchen Manager. Supervises student meal service to insure the requirements for reimbursable meals are being met.

Maintains a current and thorough knowledge of state requirements for school food service as measured by random testing. Prepares hot and cold food items following written instructions or demonstration. Washes service wares and kitchen utensils.

Receives and transfers food and supply deliveries to storage areas. Cleans the production areas as necessary. Maintains an attitude of flexibility when dealing with teammates to resolve problems with students or staff.

Communicates with teammates respectfully and courteously. Recognizes and reports all necessary facilities maintenance promptly. Suggests improvements to operating format.

Notifies the central kitchen manager of low product levels, daily meal counts, and problems or suggestions for improving meal service. Fills in where needed to insure efficient operations. Adheres to all sanitation regulations.

Conducts daily inspections of production areas to ensure compliance with established standards. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Washington Food Handlers' Permit or ability to obtain.

2 years lead food service experience or equivalent lead experience. High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Ability to relate well to students and staff.

Ability to maintain accurate records/reports. Requires physical ability to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials. Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Must be able to work in noisy and crowded environments. Must work in and around fumes and odors. Requires standing, stooping, bending, lifting, turning, and reaching.

Must maintain a high standard of personal hygiene. Attendance and punctuality are important functions of this position. SCHEDULE: OPEN UNTIL FILLED.

In addition, a background check, based on fingerprints, will be requested from the Washington State Patrol & FBI. Employment is conditional based upon the completion of the record check.
