Cornell Cooperative Extension in NYC has immediate openings for community educators to join the Nutrition and Health Program staff in New York City, in multiple boroughs.
What you will do:
Community Educators facilitate nutrition and health education workshops in all 5 boroughs of New York City. Workshops are conducted remotely and/or in person, as needed, to both adult and youth audiences in a variety of community settings, such as schools, churches, not for profit sites. This is a wonderful opportunity to enhance your knowledge of nutrition and health and share it with your community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Recruiting and marketing to community agencies
- Teaching food, nutrition, budgeting and food safety to workshop participants
- Evaluation and documentation of nutrition programs and planning new initiatives

What we are looking for:
We are seeking individuals who are interested in teaching informally to diverse audiences. Candidates must have a high school diploma, plus a minimum of 6 months experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. We teach in person and virtually, so candidates should be able to travel throughout NYC on a regular basis. Experience with the Microsoft Office suite, calendaring and email tools are required and knowledge of remote learning tools (Zoom, PowerPoint, and WhatsApp) are helpful.
Bilingual in English/Spanish, English/Bengali, English/Creole, English/Mandarin strongly preferred.
Some evenings and weekend work may be required.
Pay Range: $19 - $21 per hour
