JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Eberly College of Science (ECoS) is seeking a diverse team of undergraduate students at the University Park campus to serve as ECoS Student Assistants during summer 2023 New Student Orientation (NSO). Primary responsibilities will include providing instruction and guidance to incoming first-year students, helping students enroll in summer and fall courses using LionPATH, and greeting and checking in students when they arrive at the afternoon ECoS College Advising Meeting. ECoS Student Assistants will gain leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
ECoS Student Assistants must be available for training days (May 18 & 19, 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. daily) and all NSO programs that will take place (May 23 - July 21 and August 15 - 18, 2023). ECoS Student Assistants will be scheduled to work certain days on Monday through Friday during the hours of about 1:45 pm - 5:00 pm, for a total of about 10-15 hours per week. Applicants should be at least a 2nd semester Penn State student in good academic standing. Preference will be given to those pursuing a major in the Eberly College of Science (life science-related majors preferred but not required).

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters. The ASR is available for review here.
