Network Engineer

We're looking for a Network Engineer to provide network configuration and provisioning services to our Client for end customers requiring service-impacting changes to their circuits. This will require makings live changes to customer premise equipment and core/edge network equipment during scheduled maintenance windows.

• Network configuration experience on live networks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Rotating shift between typical business hours (8-5 in your time zone) and “evening” hours outside of typical business hours
• Remote position, but first week must be willing to travel to Austin, TX for training

What Your Day Will Look Like:

• Reviewing a customer request and researching the details of what is required.
• Logging into equipment, verifying inventory records, on customer premise equipment and edge/core equipment.
• Configuring/scripting out needed changes to be performed during scheduled maintenance windows.
• Creating tickets and MOPs (method of procedures), outlining work required during a scheduled maintenance window.
• Working with internal resources of the Client as well as individual business/enterprise customers of the Client on their behalf, including e-mail and phone calls.

What it Takes to be Successful as an Access Engineer:

• Experience with making changes on a live network is required
• Attention to detail, extremely careful and deliberate work on live networks
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Comfortable with interaction via PC phone calls and email
• Available for rotating shifts (day and evening)
• Being self-motivated; working independently

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $56.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday
