United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) has a requirement for a local capability to rapidly research, develop, prototype, test, evaluate, and transition Special Operation Forces (SOF)-specific technologies in both an unclassified and classified environment. The User Test Bed (UTB) will provide appropriate infrastructure within unclassified and classified environments, which fosters a unified collaborative government (civilian/military) and contractor(s) approach. This approach will integrate inputs from engineering, management specialists, and subject-matter experts across the traditionally segregated phases of the acquisition life cycle, starting with concept refinement and encompassing technology development, demonstration, and prototype production.
Task Description:
Provides ongoing technical/operational guidance to lead a project or professional work teams
• Understand networking/distributed computing environment concepts
• Understand the principles of client/server programming
• Develops streamlined and professional user interfaces
• Proficiency with Linux kernel/driver development
• Excellent knowledge of security and encryption principles
• Understands DOD functional mission and objectives
• Possess excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on verbal and written communication
• Communicate technical concepts to non-technical personnel
Certifications Required Bachelors in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, EE or related discipline.
Required Skills/Level of Experience:
Plans and evaluates complex network systems and makes recommendations for resources required to maintain/expand service. Provides highly skilled technical assistance in network planning, engineering, and architecture. Develops technical standards and interface applications, identifies/evaluates new products, and provides resolution for network problems. Interfaces with vendors to identify hardware/software specifications. Performs testing and analysis of all elements of network facilities, including servers, software, power, communications, lines, modems, and terminals. Performs installation/integration of guard technology in compliance with INFOSEC requirements. Supports product integration from project inception through operation and maintenance.
SEC+, NET+, CCNA, MCSA or MCSE; Knowledge of Windows Server 2003, 2008 Administration, VMWARE Admin, DNS, DHCP, VLAN Configuration, PC Hardware/Software support, Router/Switch Configuration, Windows XP/7 Support, Firewall Admin, TCP/IP networks
