SalaryResponsibilities include maintaining and or improving tribal lands as necessary. Duties include minor repairs, ground maintenance, and operating and maintaining assigned equipment
Job Duties:Performs ground maintenance duties as assigned such as mowing, weed eating, fencing work, and land improvement projects. Repairs and maintains physical structures on grounds including minor carpentry, electrical, and plumbing repairs. Operates and maintains equipment such as tractors, dozers, backhoe, haying equipment, and mowers as assigned. Performs maintenance and minor repairs to assigned equipment. Maintains tools, equipment, and vehicles. Transports equipment to and from work sites. Develops and maintains accurate inventory of tools and supplies. Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities are required.
Qualifications:EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or six (6) months related experience.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
At least six (6) months of experience in a related field.
COMPUTER SKILLS
No computer skills are required for this position.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets the requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, or stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to correct/adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), work near moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold and heat (non-weather), and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
