Native Plant Propagator/Grower
About the Company
ArcheWild is the leading wholesale restoration nursery in PA within a rapidly growing ecological restoration service organization. We serve state and federal agencies, ecological restoration companies, other Native Plant nurseries, research organizations, and large users of Native Plants throughout PA, NJ, MD, NY, DE.
ArcheWild does not operate a retail location.
About You
You are an experienced Native Plant propagator or are passionate about finding, germinating, and growing a wide range of Native Plants for the restoration industry.
You are a highly motivated person desiring to learn everything there is to know about Native Plants - where they grow, when and how to collect seed, establishing and managing founder plots, how to condition and germinate seeds, and produce liners for use in the nursery, or for sale.
You are also a highly detailed and meticulous person that loves to keep all of your data records and seed inventories well labelled and in good condition. You love using apps and software instead of paper records or Excel.
You also enjoy interfacing with other organizations and working with clients and project teams to coordinate priorities and activities.
About the Position
OVERALL OBJECTIVE
Work as an integral member of of the nursery team to produce Native Plant material used on restoration projects and for sale to other nurseries. Participate in the fulfillment of customer contracts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Growing and collecting of seed,
- All aspects of seed inventorying, cleaning, and conditioning,
- Liasing with production planning to grow new starts,
- Introduce new Native Plants,
- Meticulous record keeping of seed lot and accession performance, and
- Working with clients and project teams to maintain a high level of readiness.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- An absolute passion to learn everything there is to know about growing Native Plants,
- At least two year's experience working in any high-volume production setting,
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
PHYSICAL AND COGNITIVE ABILITIES
- Ability to proactively and effectively communicate with all team members, vendors, and clients.
- Ability to perform full range of field work under sometimes strenuous conditions.
Terms of Employment
- Full time, year round, seasonal schedule available depending on best fit.

We will train. Candidates must be very detail-oriented, highly reliable, and wanting to learn everything there is to know about Native Plant propagation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
