Job Description
This Metallurgical Engineer is responsible for providing product, process and systems support within the Technical Services group for the production processes at this cold rolled strip facility. This position will be responsible for applying metallurgical and engineering principles to the design, development and operation of processes and equipment, while also contributing to new grade and supplier development. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, problem solver who demonstrates a strong work ethic and enjoys continuous learning to support meeting customers' expectations.

Section Title: Responsibilities
- Develop material and processing parameters to efficiently achieve desired end-product properties and attributes based upon end customer specifications.
- Drive data-based product capability assessments and process improvements.
- Provide metallurgical expertise in the dispositioning of non-conforming material
- Participate in corrective action teams and facilitate root cause analysis
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts by analyzing quality-related performance statistics
- Support testing laboratory thru test standard interpretation, procedural development and auditing, and test equipment selection due diligence.
- Interact with customers and suppliers in support of development and/or investigative problem-solving of supplied products.
- Responsible for creating material test reports and publishing to internal and external customers.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Strong computer skills required, knowledge in statistics and/or advanced analytics a plus
- Familiarity with the techniques of lean manufacturing

- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering or similar Engineering degree
