Position Summary:

The Memory Care Director implements, trains, and facilitates for all Memory Care specific initiatives within the community.

Required Experience for Memory Care Director:

• Bachelor's degree in Gerontology, Health Care Administration or related field preferred.
• At least 2-year experience in Memory Care setting preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives and complete assigned projects timely and accurately.
• Ability to facilitate training programs.
• Ability to build strong rapport with families and residents.
• Ability to complete audits on Memory Care initiatives.
• Proven organizational and communication skills.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Accountabilities for Memory Care Director:

• Demonstrates and models company culture and values safety, common beliefs, and a culture of feedback.
• Demonstrated ability to be authentic, understands the value of devotion to employees and inspires excellence through empowering employees to pursue their best version.
• Encourage, coach, and support Memory Care team members to inspire compassionate and positive relationships with residents.
• Participate in hiring process for candidates who will be potentially working in Memory Care.
• Model resident engagement presence when in neighborhood.
• Complete or delegate 1440 neighborhood walk through and address issues as they are identified.
• Responsible for communicating and completing a new resident move in plan with all appropriate team members/leaders.
• Communicates to families of Memory Care residents often and participates in scheduled care conferences.
• Formulate and sustain optimal relationships with residents and their families. Provide assistance and support as needed.
• Ability to influence and optimize the efforts of others by relationship building and continuously coaching.
• Implement and audit Memory Care training and programs.
• Coordinate with community leadership team to ensure positive and meaningful experiences for Memory Care residents.
• Attend weekly calls with the Aging and Dementia Services.
• Responsible for implementing, facilitating and maintaining all Memory Care initiatives.
• Facilitate a monthly support group or meeting for family and caregivers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

General Working Conditions:

This position entails standing for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively with others, sit, stand, walk and use hands to handle keyboard, telephone, paper, files, and other equipment and objects. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The work environment requires appropriate interaction with others. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Travel to different locations required.
