Responsibilities & Requirements
Job Responsibilities:
- Under general supervision, performs the tests ordered in the specific laboratory section(s) as assigned. Sections include chemistry, hematology, transfusion service, and microbiology.
- Access to coordinator or other professional personnel is required.
- May assist CLA's and another technical team.

Job Qualifications:
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Lab Science is required.
- ASCP Certification must be obtained within one year of hire.
- Credentialing through the Proficiency Examination administered under the auspices of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (formerly Health, Education, and Welfare).
Preferred Qualifications
Specific Laboratory Section: Molecular testing and Flow Cytometry.
Technologist will process clinical samples, perform technical laboratory procedures, report results, and troubleshoot processes and instrumentation. Laboratory procedures may include: nucleic acid extractions from primary patient samples, amplification via PCR or RT-PCR, immunophenotyping of fluids and tissues, and automated instrumentation utilization. Specimen testing results are utilized for prediction and diagnosis of disease as well as the provisioning of quality patient care. Documentation systems in place are to be maintained. Participation in quality control procedures, inventory activities, and competency/proficiency testing required. May participate in verification and validation studies for process improvements, new equipment, and new technology transfer.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Clinical Lab Science or Medical Technology required. Current MT /MLS license (ASCP) required. Will consider MLT with appropriate experience.
Experience with molecular diagnostics and/or flow cytometry preferred. MB (ASCP) preferred.
