Job Summary:

The Medical Technologist works as a generalist in the hospital lab setting.

Responsibilities:

• Works as a generalist in the hospital lab setting and assists as needed in all lab areas as required to maintain appropriate patient care
• Ability to operate all general laboratory instrumentation
• Performs routine and specialized moderate and high complexity laboratory tests on all types of blood and body fluid specimens under minimal supervision
• Performs instrument function checks and preventative maintenance procedures according to department policies and procedures
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's of Science in Medical Technology required
• Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology
• 2+ years of experience preferred
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
• Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with patient, guest, physicians, and other employees
