Job DescriptionThe Department of Dermatology within the University of Missouri School of Medicine is seeking a Part-Time Medical Scribe to work primarily at the Dermatology and Skin Surgery Center at our Jefferson City location.
Department of Dermatology is dedicated to providing high quality dermatological care for patients at multiple locations and rural areas in Mid-Missouri and beyond.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work to facilitate patient flow and ensure accurate and complete medical records for each patient.
Accompany physician into the patient examination room when appropriate in order to transcribe a history and physical exam, and document accurately the physician's encounter with the patient and others present accurately and timely.
List all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician.
Transcribe patient orders including laboratory test, radiology tests, medications, etc.
Chart provider/patient encounter in real time, accurately and timely.
Document any procedures performed by the physician.
Support delivery of care by assisting with laboratory orders, patient referrals, and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge or abilities can be acquired is necessary.
Six (6) months experience as a Medical Scribe or 6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications1 year of direct experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge is preferred.
