Aiken Physicians Alliance is affiliated with Aiken Regional Medical Centers, a 273-bed acute care facility offering a comprehensive range of specialties and services. Aiken Regional Medical Center has been ranked a top hospital in South Carolina by the Carolina Center for Medical Excellence for its treatment of heart attack, heart failure and pneumonia and has been recognized as an "A" rated facility by the Leapfrog Group.
Job Summary
The Medical Scribe works directly with physician to facilitate patient flow and ensure an accurate and complete medical record for each patient.
Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS. IPM develops and manages multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics which align with UHS acute care facilities. It also provides select services for the Behavioral Health division of UHS. Through continuing growth, IPM operates in 11 markets across six states and the District of Columbia. Job Summary
The Medical Scribe works directly with physician to facilitate patient flow and ensure an accurate and complete medical record for each patient.
- Accompanies physician into the patient examination room in order to transcribe a history and physical exam, and document accurately the physician's encounter with the patient and others present.
- Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician.
- Transcribes patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.
- Documents any procedures performed by the physician
- Other duties as required.

Qualifications
Education Knowledge, Skills, Licensure, Training and Travel
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- 1-3 years medical scribe experience, preferred.
- Medical terminology one year, training education and/or experience, preferred.
- Recognition of physical exam process and ability to record exam details.
- Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications.
- Legible handwriting and ability to accurately record information.
- Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families
- Windows 10 based PC
