About QUTENZA
QUTENZA (capsaicin) 8% topical system was acquired in late 2018. The acquisition gave Grunenthal global commercial rights to QUTENZA and provided Averitas Pharma with its first FDA-approved product for distribution. QUTENZA is currently marketed and distributed by Averitas Pharma in the US for the treatment of neuropathic pain associated with postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) or with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (PDPN) of the feet.

Our Team
The role of the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is to contribute to the achievement of the company's goals through field-based value adding medical activities (in the assigned territory) as well as internal activities.Serve as Averitas medical expert for current and future products and scientific data in front of different stakeholders.
This role collaborates with the Head of Medical Affairs,Sales, Marketing, HELM (Market Access), Clinical Operations, Drug Safety, Medical Information
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering Medical Information on request of external customers
- Establishing, developing, and maintaining relationships with Key External Experts and other stakeholders
- Liaising with local experts to discuss patient pathways and disease management
- Enhancing Averitas' principles of scientific expertise, innovative leadership, and patient centricity
- Serving as interface and advisor to investigators concerning clinical studies, new products
- Deliver medical education around products and therapeutic areas on request
- Preparing and holding local advisory boards, focus groups, staff meetings and trainings
- Deliver scientific competitive intelligence and customer insight (internal & external)
- Serve as a contact point between medical affairs team and the field-based cross-functional team sand provide insights on medical/scientific issues
- Establishing/maintaining overview on guidelines and other relevant publications
- Contributing to knowledge creation and management
- Representing medical ethics towards other departments
Preferred Experience
- Understanding needs of various healthcare stakeholders including KEEs (Key External Experts) and payers
- Specialty disease fields
- Introducing new specialty pharmaceutical/biologics products or indications
- Pain product experience is a plus
Skills and Knowledge
- PharmD, PhD, or MD
- Prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry as an MSL
- Strong interpersonal and presentation (written and verbal) skills, with the ability to interact with customers and senior management
- Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
- High ethical and professional standards with all business contacts and at all levels
Requirements
- Willingness to travel overnight (up to 50%)
- Ability to schedule individual work-related travel (air, hotel, rental car as needed)
