Job description

Kaleo is a new type of pharmaceutical company, dedicated to building innovative solutions for serious and life-threatening medical conditions. We were founded by patients, and patients remain our central focus and common passion.

Kaleo is not like other pharmaceutical companies. We are a growing organization of driven, passionate people who challenge each other to do things differently and better. If you thrive on change, a fast pace, and making a big impact in a place where everyone knows your name, you will love it here!

Our Sales Professionals play an important role in our business by educating healthcare providers about our products. Successful Medical Sales Professionals enjoy learning, analyzing business data, talking to people, and being accountable for their own performance. They are people with high integrity who believe in hard work. In turn, Kaleo offers a comprehensive sales training program, a supportive sales management team, and a sales force structure that combines the best of collaboration and competition. Our sales career path offers opportunities to advance and grow within your career, while earning competitive compensation and balancing your life with generous benefits from the beginning.

As a Kaleo Medical Sales Professional, you will:

  • Complete all compliance, product, and other required training and maintain a learning and growth mindset.
  • Travel within your assigned territory to represent Kaleo's products in person to health care providers, effectively communicating the most up-to-date, approved information about products' features and clinical benefits. This territory is primarily concentrated on the Stamford area / southwestern tip of Connecticut.
  • Deliver medical educational programs for health care providers and complete appropriate follow-up.
  • With support from your Area Sales Manager, use sales analytics and other data to develop strategic business plans and territory routing plans to maximize sales opportunities.
  • With support from your Area Sales Manager, devise and implement account access strategies to achieve territory and business goals.
  • Manage your time effectively; record and report expenses and complete other administrative responsibilities in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Travel overnight occasionally for Company meetings or events.

A successful Kaleo Medical Sales Professional will have:

  • Demonstrated ability to implement a sales model and/or follow the required steps of a sales process.
  • Understanding of the value of data to make strategic and tactical decisions within an assigned territory.
  • Demonstrated resilience and relentlessly positive attitude in the face of challenges.
  • Powerful internal drive and motivation to achieve individualized sales goals.
  • Demonstrated professional accountability and ability to make proactive, independent decisions.
  • Strong communication skills, including written communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Desire to partner with sales colleagues to support the success of the team and the company and commitment to participating in and upholding an inclusive work environment.
  • Growth mindset; willingness to continue to learn and receive feedback.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing environments, expectations, and requirements.
  • Strong integrity and commitment to doing the right thing.

To be considered for the position, you must have:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A driver's license in good standing.
  • At least 1 year of successful transactional business-to-business sales experience, or combination of relevant sales and clinical experience.
  • A track record of exceeding sales quotas and an outstanding work ethic.
  • A desire to pursue a career in pharmaceutical sales.

Additional preferred qualifications:

  • Two or more years of full-time, quota-carrying business-to-business sales experience.
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software (e.g., Veeva, Salesforce).
  • Familiarity with the pharmaceutical industry.
