Independence Plus is rapidly expanding in all of our service areas and has an immediate opening for a Medical Equipment Assistant to join the Home Medical Equipment division. This is a full-time position, working out of our Oak Brook, IL (DuPage County) office.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Medical Equipment Assistant is primarily responsible for processing, receiving, and organizing HME equipment and medical supply deliveries and orders for patients in the home. Additional responsibilities include cleaning and testing equipment, maintaining the warehouse, assisting with efficient and cost effective inventory controls.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Orders, receives, cleans, stores and pulls equipment and supplies while utilizing Home Medical Equipment ("HME") software programs as directed
- Monitors and function tests inventory of HME equipment and supplies following Independence Plus guidelines
- Processes outgoing shipments (UDS, UPS) and corresponding paperwork in a timely and efficient manner
- Occasional driving required
- Represents the company with strong customer service skills
- Commitment to following all Policies and Procedures of Independence Plus, State, Federal, and CHAP guidelines, including the utilization of Universal / Standard Precautions and Confidentiality
- Availability to work 9 AM to 5:30 PM or 10 AM to 6:30 PM Monday through Friday; flexible scheduling options
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma
- College students welcome to apply
- Minimum of one year relevant experience
- Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills
- Valid Illinois drivers license with a good driving record
- Ability to frequently lift up to 65 pounds
