Based in our SIDNEY, OH location, you will work in conjunction with product and research engineers to design, develop, and qualify compressors for residential and commercial HVACR systems. To maintain our role as a global leader in compression solutions, we continually seek talented and ambitious technicians to work in our engineering laboratories. We are seeking a first-shift Assembly Lab technician to contribute to our growth and continued innovation. This position has several shift options available once fully trained: Standard schedule is Monday thru Friday 1st shift 8 hrs./day. Other options are currently Tuesday thru Friday, 1st shift 10 hrs./day; or a 36-hour weekend shift (Fri., Sat., Sun.; 12 hrs./day)
- Adhere to all corporate and laboratory safety standards and policies, including all EPA regulations.
- Build, test, and analyze failure modes of development, customer samples, and product support compressors to meet ARI, ASHRAE, UL, and other industry standards.
- Operate and maintain laboratory test equipment, including but not limited to data acquisition, mechanical equipment, hydraulic presses, welders, and various computer-assisted equipment and measuring devices.
- Provide consulting to engineers and communicate technical information relating to project status.
- Document testing, assembly, and inspection results completely and accurately.
- Fabricate new products and existing HVACR products or fixtures utilizing custom fabrication type equipment and machines.
- Utilize hydraulic/electrical/mechanical schematics and exploded view blueprints.
- Perform general math calculations and use lab software and computers to create reports.
- Meet the physical demands of the position, which include manipulation of average to heavyweights, standing for extended periods of time, use of hand tools, cutting, welding, and brazing equipment.
- Utilize Lean fundamentals related to a lab environment.
- Collaborate and work in both a team environment and individually.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
- High school degree plus two to three (2-3) years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have basic mechanical, HVAC, or electrical/electronic skills
- Must have troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Must have personal computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office programs

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
- Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering or HVAC/R, plus three (3) years of experience
- Advanced welding skills and experience (TIG/MIG)
- Basic electrical skills
- Strong blueprint reading skills
- Experience with brazing and soldering
