Mechanical Reliability Engineer (2202753) - Fort Amanda Specialties - Lima, OH
Fort Amanda Specialties is a chemical company located inside the Lima, Ohio refinery complex and is a joint venture between BASF and Nouryon. Fort Amanda Specialties is a major producer of chelating agents that are used in a broad range of applications such as hand sanitizers, soaps, cosmetics, industrial cleaners, descaling, food fortification, and agriculture products.

Where the Chemistry Happens

In this role you will drive continuous improvement for improved equipment reliability and maintenance cost reductions. You will also manage the mechanical integrity program for fixed equipment at the same time as you maintain a strong safety culture with a continuous improvement mindset.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formula for Success

  • Leveraging your bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering or technical education and your experience in reliability, project, or maintenance support role in a chemical manufacturing, refinery, or similar industrial setting, you will lead the bad actor improvement program by analyzing data and proposing sustained solutions.
  • Your project management experience for small capital equipment replacement and modification projects, as well as your problem-solving abilities, will serve you well as you lead or support root cause problem solving and failure mode and effects analysis. You will ensure Management of Change (MOC) process is followed for any changes implemented.
  • Applying your ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, you will review and recommend the appropriate equipment maintenance asset strategy.
  • Utilizing your capacity to achieve goals independently and as a team player, you will manage and coordinate fixed equipment mechanical integrity program and inspection activities per regulatory and corporate requirements. Additionally, you will provide input and support precision maintenance activities.
  • As a detailed-oriented professional, you will ensure equipment repairs and new installations are properly documented, and all process safety information (PSI) and mechanical integrity information is updated. You will also lead the risk-based inspection (RBI) program.
  • Demonstrating your strong communication skills, you will provide training and coaching to site maintenance.
