POWER Engineers, Inc - Facilities Division seeks a Mechanical Designer to join our Boise, Idaho location.
The Facilities Division specializes in Food & Beverage, Federal, and Industrial facility design. We are responsible leaders with a focus on the future while providing functional and high-performing projects. We do this through the integration of responsible designs that include new buildings, remodels, and additions as well as studies and evaluations of existing systems. A major component of our work is providing engineering services to help our clients change and adapt their facilities and systems to meet their changing goals.

Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is $45k - $70k per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.

Roles and Responsibilities
Overall Tasks
- Designs process and mechanical systems based on rough sketches, minimal input, and personal experience
- Research information on layouts by utilizing design specific reference materials
- Recognize design gaps and provides excellent quality solutions for these gaps
- Identify the technical needs of a project and act on those as needed
- Coordinate and clarify code regulations, specifications, and other detailed design requirements into designs
- Implement POWER and Client CADD project standards efficiently for each project that is assigned
- Use REVIT, Plant 3D, MicroStation as well AutoCAD P&ID
- Develop work plans to meet project requirements and communicate plans effectively to others
- Delegate, monitor, and communicate work needs, budgets and schedules to others
- Mentor drafters and entry-level designers
- Promote and educate other designers and drafters on POWER's standard drafting manual
- Provide high quality work that is completed to POWER Standards
- Provide CADD project coordination
- Assist with customer site visits for data acquisition if needed
- Related CADD or Engineering degree
- 4 years of current AutoCAD 2D experience
- 2 years of current AutoCAD 3D experience AutoCAD 2014 or newer, AutoCAD Inventor, AutoCAD Plant 3D suite
- 4 years of experience in design and layout of Food and Beverage processing and mechanical systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word)
- Proven ability to work in cross-functional engineering and design team
- Ability to travel if required
- 3D Modeling capabilities utilizing AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, or BIM
- Detail-oriented in all work and focused on quality and accuracy
- Excellent follow-through and coordination skills
- Effective in prioritizing and setting deadlines while meeting budgets
- Ability to recognize the needs of clients, respond accordingly
- 2 years of utilizing industry CAD standards for layouts, PFD's and P&ID's
- Working knowledge of the latest scanning hardware and software with experience integrating them into construction documents and CAD Models
